Realistic Animal Losses v 1.0
Realistic Animal Losses v 1.0
More Realistic Animal Management – Finally Real Consequences for Neglect!
In the standard version of Farming Simulator 25, you hardly need to worry as an animal keeper – your animals simply continue living, no matter how well (or poorly) you take care of them. This mod changes that fundamentally!
From now on, your actions will have a direct impact on the well-being of your animals. If feed, water, or straw are missing – or if the feed isn’t effective enough – you risk losing animals. This makes animal management not only more realistic but also more challenging and exciting.
These factors can lead to a decline in your animal population:
Age:
Once animals reach a certain age, there is a 10% risk they won’t be in the barn the next evening.
Horses: from 60 months
Pigs: from 40 months
Cows & Buffalo: from 50 months
Sheep & Goats: from 30 months
Chickens & Roosters: from 30 months
(Note: These age thresholds are intentionally set somewhat unrealistically to make the mechanic noticeable.)
Care:
If the overall feed effectiveness is too low, or if water or straw are missing, the risk can increase to up to 100%.
You can adjust the threshold for feed effectiveness in the mod menu to control the risk. By default, it’s set to 90% – below that, the risk of animal loss increases.
Daily Check at 6 PM:
Every evening, an automatic check assesses the state of your animals. If problems are detected, you’ll receive a warning message – giving you one last chance to act before it’s too late.
Multiplayer Compatible:
Even if a player is absent in multiplayer mode, their barns will still be checked – animal welfare doesn’t take breaks!

How do I install Farming Simulator mods?
Find a mod that you like and want to download first. Then, on your PC, download a mod. Mods are typically in.zip format. However, it is sometimes in.rar format. If the mod file is in.zip format, no additional actions are required. If a file is in.rar format, you must unarchive it using software such as WinRar or Zip7. Windows 10 users do not need to use archive software; Win10 includes an unarchive feature.
The next step is to locate the mods folder on your computer. It is typically found in Documents/My Games/Farming Simulator [Your FS game version, e.g. 2022]. Open the "mods" folder and place the downloaded.zip archive or unarchived.rar file there.
The final step. Have fun with Farming Simulator mods!
